Common questions
Is this only for learning disability services?
No. Supported living and learning disability services use it most, but it works for any service that supports people whose distress can show in their behaviour, including dementia care and complex care.
Can a behaviour record become an incident?
If someone is hurt or the event meets your incident threshold, staff also report it as an incident, using the behaviour escalation category, which captures triggers, antecedents and any restraint used.
Does Assure write positive behaviour support plans?
No. It gives clinicians and positive behaviour support practitioners the reliable data a plan needs, and shows whether the plan is working over time.
