The inspection readiness summary brings together incidents, competency, policies, handovers, behaviour records and outcomes for any period. It sets them out against the questions CQC asks of every service: is it safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led?
For each one it shows what your records show, and what to look at before anyone else does, such as overdue actions, expiring competencies or policies past their review date. It is the report to open the week before an assessment, and the week after a quiet month.

Know when something has really changed.
A bad week is not always a sign that something has gone wrong. Assure charts incidents week by week using NHS England's Making Data Count method, with an average and control limits, so you can tell normal variation from a genuine change that needs action.
Trend reports also break incidents down by category, time of day and day of the week, which is often where the answer is, such as a pattern of evening falls or medication errors on one shift.

Does the inspection readiness summary guarantee a good rating?
No, and nothing can. It shows what your records say against each key question and highlights gaps, so you can act on them early.
Can we create our own reports?
The library covers the reports most providers need, and registers can be downloaded as a spreadsheet for your own analysis. If there is a report you need that is not there, tell us.
Can commissioners see our data directly?
No. You choose what to share. The commissioner reports are designed to be printed or sent as a PDF.
