You didn't get into care to rush. You got into it to make a difference to someone's day, and to their life.

At Eviqa Complex Care, that's the job. No 15-minute calls. No clock-watching. Proper time with one person: getting them out into their community, building their confidence, helping them do things for themselves, and being the steady person in the room when things get hard.

We're a clinician-led team, led by a paramedic, supporting children, young people and adults with learning disabilities, autism, brain injury and mental health needs across Devon, Torbay, Plymouth, Cornwall and Somerset.

Be the support worker you want to be

We'll trust your judgement. If you can see a better way to help someone, we want to hear it. If something doesn't feel right, we want you to speak up, and we'll back you when you do. Doing the right thing is never the wrong call here.

What the work looks like

• 1:1 support in the community: days out, appointments, hobbies, social time
• Helping people build independent living skills and keep their home
• Short breaks for disabled children and young people
• Being a familiar face beside a child or adult in hospital
• Alternative education support and mentoring
• Short-notice cover when social care teams need someone they can rely on

This is support work: no personal care and no medication.

What's in it for you

• £14 an hour with adults, £15 an hour with children and young people
• Paid weekly, every Friday
• Evenings and weekends +£1.25 an hour, bank holidays at time and a half, short-notice shifts +£1.50 an hour
• 45p a mile for travel during shifts
• You choose the shifts you take. Fit it around family, study or another job
• DBS refunded after your first 50 hours
• First aid and life support training taught by a paramedic, not a slideshow
• A clinical lead and an on-call manager behind you on every shift, so you're never on your own with a problem
• Records on your phone in minutes, so your time goes on the person, not the paperwork
• Paid holiday and a workplace pension

You'll be a great fit if you

• Have supported someone with additional needs, at work, in your family, volunteering or in education
• Stay calm and kind when a situation is challenging
• Are reliable: when you say you'll be there, you're there
• Have a full UK driving licence and a car with business insurance
• Can do some evenings, weekends or nights

No care qualification? That's fine. Students, teaching assistants, youth workers, healthcare students and people with lived experience all make brilliant support workers. We'll train you.

The checks

An enhanced DBS (child and adult workforce) on the DBS Update Service. If you don't have one, we'll process it for you and refund it after your first 50 hours. Two references and right to work in the UK.
