Complex care at home in Cornwall.
Paramedic-led complex care, live-in care and personal care at home in Truro, Falmouth, Newquay, St Austell, Bodmin, Saltash, Liskeard, Launceston, Penzance and the towns and villages between them, for adults and children aged 3 and over.
Complex care in Cornwall, led from the inside.
Cornwall has a single acute hospital at Treliske, a population that grows every summer, and some of the longest distances in England between a person's home and specialist care. Families coming home with complex needs, or supporting someone who wants to stay in the home they love, are often told that nobody can staff the hours. Eviqa Complex Care is built for that: paramedic-led care at home in blocks of hours, waking nights and live-in care, with a clinician on call day and night, across Cornwall from Saltash to Penzance.
We work with the discharge teams at the Royal Cornwall Hospital, the community hospitals across the county, Cornwall Council's adult social care, and NHS Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly on continuing healthcare, and alongside Cornwall Hospice Care for people at the end of life. Because the distances are real, Cornwall packages are planned around longer shifts and live-in care, with a small team recruited close to the person.
Our care in Cornwall
Care comes in blocks of hours that fit the person: 4, 6, 10 or 12 hour shifts, waking nights, or round the clock, 365 days a year. Every package has a named clinical lead and a clear escalation route, day and night.

Our careWorking with the teams you already know in Cornwall
Complex care sits alongside the NHS and the local authority. It does not replace them, and it works best when everyone is talking.
the Royal Cornwall Hospital at Treliske
We take referrals from discharge coordinators and ward teams, and we can assess on the ward so the package is ready when the person is.
Cornwall Council
Local authority funded packages and direct payments, with the care plan written the way the social work team needs to see it.
NHS Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, for continuing healthcare
We work with the NHS Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly continuing healthcare team and with case managers on CHC and personal health budget packages.
Community nursing and therapy
District nurses, specialist nurses and therapists stay involved. Our carers carry out the delegated tasks they have been signed off for, and escalate to them when needed.
Cornwall Hospice Care
For people who want to be cared for at home at the end of life, we work alongside the hospice team and the GP.
Case managers, deputies and solicitors
Personal injury and Court of Protection packages, with monthly reviews and records that stand up to scrutiny.
Led by a paramedic, not a rota.
Every Eviqa package in Cornwall has a named paramedic clinical lead who knows the person, writes the plan and reviews it. Our carers are trained by clinicians to spot the change before it becomes the emergency, and a clinician answers day and night.
Every Eviqa service runs on Eviqa Assure, so every task, incident and review is recorded and open to you. How we are different
How a package is built
- Carers trained by clinicians. Our own programme covers recognising deterioration, observations, falls and escalation, on top of the Care Certificate.
- Signed off for each person. No carer carries out a clinical task until they have been trained, observed and signed off for that individual.
- The same small team. Four to six regular carers who know the person, working the same shifts each week, with a clinician on call.

Common questions about complex care in Cornwall
Do you cover all of Cornwall?
Yes. We cover Truro, Falmouth, Newquay, St Austell, Bodmin, Saltash, Liskeard, Launceston, Penzance and the towns and villages between them. If you are just outside, ask us: packages are planned around the person and the geography, and longer shifts and live-in care make distance much less of a problem.
Who pays for complex care in Cornwall?
It depends on the person's needs. NHS continuing healthcare through NHS Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly is not means-tested and funds care in full for people whose needs are mainly health needs. Cornwall Council funds or part-funds care after a needs and financial assessment. Personal injury settlements, Court of Protection deputies and private funding are all common. Paying for care
Can care start straight from hospital?
Yes, where we have enough notice to train and sign off the team for the person. The earlier the discharge team involves us, the smoother it is. For case managers and referrers
When does Eviqa Complex Care open?
Eviqa Complex Care opens in April 2027. Families, case managers and deputies can talk to us now, and we are taking referrals ahead of opening.
